They have to be one of the top teams favored to win it this year. Out of the elite team (suns, heat, spurs, mavs) the are the most experienced. The second tier teams like cavs, pistons, rockets are close, but won't get past these 4 teams.
Questions for the season
1) will dirk and dallas ever get over the hump? how will the recovery from last year's choking be handled?
2) will shaq come to camp over weight and fat as heck? Does he even care now? Will wade continue his magical run at jordanesque levels?
3) how is amare's leg? Many allstars before him with the same injury have never recovered. Will nash's back hold up? Will they ever play defense?
4) how many games will tracey and yao actually play together? they have been injured so much the past 2 seasons, they barely played quality ball together. bonzi/battier duo enough to rise rockets to top 4 in west?
5) how is duncan's legs this season? missed a good chunk of minutes last year, and lost foot speed. Will manu and parker continue to flourish as best young backcourt?
6) lebron james, will he come close to averaging a triple double? can he lead his cavs past Heat and pistons? does he have enough help with him?
7) can toronto finally make the playoffs? with handful of new players, a new up tempo style in play, can it lead to a playoff birth?
8) Will kobe bring a new attitude this season? will garnett and iverson be traded some point during the season?
9) who wins scoring title and MVP?
10) who wins the ring? spurs

Kush, could you please write in proper english? I'm having a hard time understanding your posts.
I guess that's what I should expect from Lakers fans. You should bring Shaq back. You fans would have much more in common with your team then.

Big win last night. Elson, newly signed put down 4 dunks and 2 blks. This guy is fast. Last year spurs were stuck with two of the slowest centers in the league with rasho and nazr.
Mark one down for spurs for battle between texas. Best Rivalry!!!!

I thought I'd mention the score of the Lakers, Spurs game from just over a week ago since no one else did. It was 106-99 Lakers, thanks in large to a 3rd quarter where they outscored the Spurs by 15 points. I'm not sure if many of you got a chance to watch the game or other Spurs game, but Manu Ginobili flops at every chance he gets. It got to such an extent against the Lakers that the play-by-play announcers were comparing his dramatic flops to those of soccer players. Similarly to hockey, its disgraceful when players resort to embellishing as they try to draw fouls. Spurs have a solid team as usual, as they are one of the best managed teams in the NBA. However, players like Ginobili, and as Vic mentioned in an earlier thread, Bruce Bowen lack class by either flopping or intentionally trying to injure star players by getting under them while they go up for jump shots. Tim Duncan and Robert Horry are unbelievable players though. Horry has been Mr. Clutch his entire career and I'm sure all Lakers fans remember how prominent he was in their championship runs.
As for the Lakers, I'm surprised to see how well they have played this year, and how Kobe trusts his teammates much more and becoming a better team player. Their young centre, Andrew Bynum has been excellent in the limited minutes he's played as well. Phil Jackson is undeniably one of the best coaches in the league and after 24 games he leads the Lakers to a 16-8 record, when the only significant players they have are Kobe, Odom, and to a lesser extent Luke Walton.
