Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh I urge everyone to please find the time to take a look at the pdf file below. It is about the meaning of life and how we can improve our lives by remembering God. This book is based on katha from Baba Maan Singh, who was a very wise and passionate man. The message that he communicated was all about Guru Granth Sahib Ji and how to connect with God. I guess someone from the sangat, translated and wrote out everything that Maan Singh said. I guarantee you that after reading the first 2 or 3 pages, you will want to continue reading. It is so well written and easy to understand. Take a look: www.amritbani.com/documents/The%20Meaning%20Of%20Life.PDF Here's something that really hit me when I read it in the book: "Like a mirror shows you what you are. Like the earth doesn’t hate any seed, whatever is planted grows. In the same way the Guru is without hate and we become whatever we see our Guru as." Interesting perspective. The above statement may not be easy to understand right away but if you read the story about Bhai Balla Jee in the book, you will see the significance of it. There are many other interesting views on different topics and that is why I suggest everyone give it a look.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
From what I have read so far, the author stresses one point over and over again -
“Avar Kaaj teray kitay na kaam, mil sadh sangat bhaj keval naam. Other works are of no use to you, meet the holy congregation and meditate only on Naam.”
As a student society, if we are preaching Sikhism and this line of gurbani is the very purpose of our lives, then why do we only have one kirtan a semester to remember Waheguru?
The discussion meetings we have are great BUT why are there no activities "meet to meditate only on Naam"? Why are there no simran sessions? No paath ucharan sessions? No Rehiras or Japji Sahib programs?

Everything that you said is true. We do need to hold more programs every semester, whether they be kirtans or rehras & japji sahib programs. I do not know why we haven't done simran programs or naam sessions before. I can say that no one has ever brought this up before, and I guess it just shows that we still have a lot more ways to go. I will bring this up at our next exec meeting.
Thank you veerji for bringing this to our attention.
