haha...as you can tell, I have a lot of free time today to be making thread after thread
So list what books you like, your alltime favorites, or even where's waldo if you like that series. Maybe we can discuss them here if there are keen readers.
Mine would be - A Fine Balance - The Catcher in the Rye - Life of Pi - The Alchemist - DaVinci Code - The Art of War - Face on the Milk Carton

Oh, I also read and liked the Life of Pi, DaVinci Code, and The Catcher in the Rye. I especially liked the first two. I am hoping they make a movie for the Life of Pi. That would be interesting. Other books I liked are: -Kill me -The five people you meet in heaven -Angela's ashes

CATCHER IN THE RYE! .... Holden Caufield what a loser ... but a hilarious loser.
1984 is just incredible too
To Kill a Mockingbird (excellent movie as well)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
and ofcourse ... The Outsiders
Sadly all of these books I read in High School and I dont care for reading books anymore, unless they have the words Guiness or NHL in the title.
edit: I completey forgot about Animal Farm .... Everybody is equal, but some people are more equal .... classic

holy cow... I almost forgot about books! I use to read all the time as a kid, but ever since I started post secondary, reading just isn't "fun" anymore ... now I don't even get the chance to read the "books" we're supposed to. And no matter how good a remake of a novel is as a movie... nothing beats the real thing. But, I do have some all-time favs: 1. All GOOSEBUMPS books... man, I use to LOVE R.L.Stine 2. There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom by Louis Sachar 3. Harry Potter series 4. Animal Farm by George Orwell 5. The Sharon Picture Wordbook by Daniel Johnson... and YES! there IS a book named after moi... my bro got it for me when I was a weee lil child... I still read it.... ;D

I am not a reader. In fact, after I graduate I will not read a single thing for a year! But, I love historical books especially those related to the Halocaust. Its become an event that people are forgetting. My current favourite book is Night by (I forget his name). I also enjoyed Anne Frank Diaries. I would love to read books, real accounts, of the 1984 Genocide. Does anyone have any recommendations? I prefer real accounts because they tend to give you a much more realistic point of view, instead of "textbook"style writings. It is much more interesting to me to read, in detail, day to day occurances. Maybe I am just weird like that. Pally

The English Patient by Micheal Ondaatje (sp?) was a great book, also had a sikh lead character in it.. i havent seen the movie yet tho..
Orwell's 1984 and to kill a mockingbird were good too.. Beouwulf (sp?) and the Great Gatsby were not bad either,...
and of course Goosebumps were off the hook especially the 'choose your own adventure' ones..
and ill post more when i think of them.. i dont read books anymore cuz i realized it was a giant wast of my life, but i used to read alot.. ill post more as i remember them...

Surely Your Joking Mr Feynman!, its a great book about one super smart dude. The funniest non-fiction book I've ever read although its written by a physics dude its got nothing to do with physics.
I also really liked 1984 and Animal Farm by Orwell.
In terms of textbooks.......
Elementary Differential Equations by Boyce and diPrima; a great book for any differential equations course that every 2nd year physical sciences students take.

Imsunny, me and you could never become good friends. You like two series of books that I DISPISE!!!! (that looks like its spelled wrong, forgive me. I'm not awake yet).
Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings...two books/movies you couldn't force me to read or see, even if you offered me a billion dollars. I'm sorry, but I don't like the story lines of either. ewwww

I read so much that I can't even name a favourite book. It's like asking me to pick a favourite movie, impossible. I like Harry Potter though I like to read it in front of Pally as much as possible..Harry Potter rules

Harry Potter is like one of the only kiddish books I'll still read. I think that Rowling is in the process of writing the last book ... can't wait till it comes out.
