the colourful version of this can be found here: sharon44.spaces.live.com/?_c11_BlogPart_blogpart=blogview&_c=BlogPart&partqs=cat%3dSports (at the bottom of the page) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you hail from Hogtown, dust off your now-unused earmuffs and cover your leathery, frostbitten ears: Toronto would surely be a superb place to live - if it was on the West Coast of Canada and called Vancouver. Think about it: Bone-numbing winter weather wages war for what seems like most of the year, finally acquiescing to a summary of a summer that soaks shirts and sears the soul. Surely the founders of T-dot were suffering from the same kind of midwinter hypothermic delusions currently affecting those Torontonians (read: all) who believe the Maple Leafs can win the Stanley Cup. But please, don't get your double-knit CN-Tower toque in a twist just yet; we love Toronto. We really do. We just hate those Maple Leafs. REASONS TO HATE THE LEAFS (like u really need any) Why you ask? Because we hate the Leafs. Did we mention that? - That annoying Canadian Tire guy is a Leafs fan for sure. You don't want to be like him, do you? - That transplanted Leafs fan named Tony whose business card says he "rakes leafs" for a living. Arguably, two reasons why he rakes leaves for a living. - Darcy Tucker. Little [insert rhyme here]. - Tim Horton's doughnuts. Full of holes, just like the Leafs' defence. - That guy on the team who's had, like, 88 concussions. What was his name again? No, seriously, he wants to know. - Their mascot is a polar bear named "Carlton." Total loser. - "Leafs" blow. Call Tony. - The only difference between the Maple Leafs and a cigarette machine is ... you can get Players in a cigarette machine. source: *24 HOURS NEWS* 24hrs.ca "crushed leaf"

Remember last year it was the Canucks vs Wild every night for the first month. This year (thank Gary Bettman) its the Leafs vs Sens 82 times a year .... er ... well 8 but still .... 4 times when there only is 3 weeks into the season ... thats terrible.
Someone should go shoot Gary Bettman.

SENATOR PRIDE.. dont you guys get tired of watching them beat up on y'all? and please dont talk about playoff success cuz the senators have the same amount of cups as you leaf fans over the past 30 years.. and i know none of y'all are born pre-1967.. im a canuck fan but senators are my second team (and i liked them from the Craig Billington, Alexei Yashin, Alexendre Daigle era.. soo PLEASE dont make the mistake of calling me a bandwagon fan) its getting ugly now.. u guys are to the point where your boy Darcy Tucker is beating up on kids like Patrick Eaves ('0' fights in the NHL) then not ansewering the call from MacGratton.. Tucker should be embarassed and you leaf fans should be embarrased for him.. Also, I understand you guys think Sundin is the greatest player ever, McCabe is better than Orr,, and Raycroft is the next coming of Patrick Roy, but when are you guys gona realize your team is 'over-rated', 'over-aged', and 'over-paid'?

i liked them from the Alexendre Daigle era.. Sorry that is a false statement. There was no such thing as a Daigle Era....to have an era, one must win and do something! Him? He did nothing but suck and choke.

first of all an era is a period of time, your thinking of a dynasty... secondly, yes Daigle was a giant failure and it can be argued that his contract ultimately lead to inflationary pressures which in turn lead to the economic downfall of the league, but no-one was arguing the pick when it happened and hindsight is always 50-50. Also every team makes these types of mistakes, Alex Stojanov; Peter Nedved; Libor Polesek.. those name sound fimilair? anyhow thats besides the point.. the main point is that the LEAFS SUCK..
